MASHROOR’S WORKSHOP :) :) :) December 23, 2010

today was mashroor’s turn to do his workshop. his topic was ” native American story telling”. this was the last workshop before the holidays.  so i was very excited for this 🙂 🙂 :).  when i entered the class, i saw that he was completely dressed up. he was wearing a feather hat and he had a flute in his hand. he made some hats for us as well which had some feather on it. it was really very cool 🙂 🙂 :). i really liked that hat ♥♥♥♥. but the hat was too big for my head. being dress up and by giving us the hats mashoor created a nice environment.

to introduce his topic he showed us a small power point.  in my opinion he had a clear idea about his topic. he respond to the answer very well. he was very confident. which was really good 🙂 🙂 :).  after the  power point he showed us some video which was really nice .  in one video a man was telling stories to the small children and in the another video a lady was  telling stories to the elder people. there was difference between both the two videos. the was of telling the stories in both the videos was very different from each other. in between the videos one thing which mashroor told us and which i really like was thought this story telling the native Americans use to transfer there knowledge to other people. in my opinion this is a very good way because  though this process the story tellers are transferring their knowledge and the other people gets to know something 🙂 🙂 :).

after sometime mashrros asked us to go to the other room. there i saw a small wodden type box. inside the wodden box there was a small candle type something.  it looked really cool 🙂 though i didn’t know what is was exactly 😛 😛 :P.  when evry one reached the room mashrror asked us to sit in a circle. after we sit the circle mashoor placed the wodden box thing in the middle of the circle. after that mashroor burn the candle inside the woodden box thing. then we close the lights. the room was very dark we could only see the light of the candle. it was so beautiful 🙂 🙂 :). after that mashoor started telling in the same way us a story like the native americans do.  i was paying attention to what ever mashroor was telling us. i like that mashrror was telling the story slowly.  it was very helpuful for me because i can understand the story properly and the story was very interesting 🙂 🙂 :). i like the story : ) 🙂 :).

when mashrror was telling the story i fell like why i am not in placeof mashroor. i wanted to do the same thing what mashroor was doing. i wanted to try it. i know that i won’t do a excellent job but still as i like to try new things i wanted to try this as well.

after mashroor was done telling stroty he gave us a sheet. where a small story was written. actually it was an task for us. for this task we had to work in pair. the task was to read the story first and then we have to tell the story in the same was as mashroor have done  it in front of the whole class. i was really excited about doing this because i wanted to do something like this and i got the chance to do it 🙂 🙂 :). it made me very happy 🙂 🙂 :). my patnre was NAUREEN. we got a story about 5-6 paragraphs.  so me and naureen decided that i will read the first paragrapg thwn she will reat the second one. then i will read the thir one and she will read the fourth one. for the last paragraph we decided to read it together. we practice it 2-3 times. in between mashroor came to us about 4 times and ask us if we need help like a good leader. but me and naureen was fine with our story. after sometime mashroor played a music. the music was really nice. when there was 5 minutes left for our presentation mashroor came to us and ask if we are ready or not? and he also asked that do we need some music when we are doing our thing. me and naureen like the idea of the music. so we said to mashroor that we want some music while we are presenting. after somw time both the groups was ready to present. but we couldn’t decide which group will go first. then adiba, mashfiq and sadman decided to present first. there stroy was very different from mine and naureen’s.  but there group did a brillient work becaue they wer doing this story telling for the first time and they did a very good job 🙂 🙂 :).  after there griup it was turn for  me and naureen to present. first i was very nervous but then mashrooe make me understand that there is nothing to be nervous of. every one was doing this thing for thr first time so it doesn’t matter how we do it. it was really nice of mashrroe that he said all this things to me. this ia a very good quality which i think a good leader should have. 🙂 🙂 🙂 when mashrror said this things to me than i felt little bit comfident.  then i wnet up and tried my vest to tell the story as like the native americans do.  me and naureen used some hand movements in our thing. plus we had the misic. after we were done mashroor said to ever one that every one did a very good job. he didn’t say anything bad about any one. thats made me very happy : ) 🙂 :). but i love doing this story telling ♥♥♥♥. that was new for me still i enjoyed a lot 🙂 🙂 🙂

over all i think mashoor’s workshop was really good and he was a good leader to. he didn’t discourage any one. he helped every one when they need help. i really liked his workshop and if i get a chace to do something like this again i will surely do it.

 

PARUL’S WORKSHOP :) :) :) December 13, 2010

12th december 2010

today was parul’s workshop. her topic was Indonesian Tari Pendet dance. i like dancing very much and i love to learn the dance of different states or country ♥♥♥♥♥. so i have very much interest in this topic. plus this dance was related to INDIA. i love INDIA and i love their dances  ♥♥♥♥♥. that’s why i was very excited about this topic ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

parul first show a presentation on Indonesian Tari Pendet dance.  her presentation was not to long. when i watching her presentation i noticed that he was very much confident about her topic, he knew her topic very well, he had a good planning, he explain each and every thing very well 🙂 🙂 :). she explain each and every slide. she had a good knowledge  about her topic. she wasn’t reading each and every slide. in her presentation she explain that in this dance hand and body movements are really important and for that lots of practice is required. i was taking interest in that because she was actually focusing on dancing. which was her topic 🙂 🙂 :).  she wasn’t telling us about the history or anything else. she was only focusing on her topic. i liked this thing very much about her presentation 🙂 🙂 :). what ever she was telling was understandable. her response to the questions was also good 🙂 : ) : ).

after her presentation she showed us some videos. first was the female dancing only, than the men dancing and last some young girls were dancing in front of a temple. the videos was to long but it was interesting. i enjoyed seeing  the people doing the dance 🙂 🙂 :).  by seeing the videos i understand that for doing this dance we need patients, we should have the ability to stand in a position for like 5 minutes, and lots of practice. if all this things are present in some one than only they can do this dance. when i saw it first i was like (i can’t do it). it was really hard. but than when parul showed me the positions and the movement i thought that it was not that much difficult as i thought.

13th december 2010

today parul continued with her workshop. today she did an activity. first when  we entered the class parul gave us some refreshments. she gave refreshments to us because she was   going to teach us the tari pendet dance. to give our energy level high she gave us refreshments. i enjoyed the refreshments 🙂 🙂 :). i was to excited to learn the dance ❤ ❤ <3.

Because it was something new for me and I really wanted to try it. After the refreshment part was over she showed the dance first and after that we started to follow her. She also told us some important things about this dance in the beginning of the dance.  After sometime when parul thought that we got the basic movements she gave us a activity to do. we were allowed to work in pairs. Our task was to prepare our own tari pendet dance. Which I thought was very creative 🙂 🙂 :).  For doing this task she gave us 15 minutes to prepare after that we have to show it in front of the whole class.   After we were done we started showing our dance in first of the whole class. I think it was really fun J J J. I enjoyed it a lot 🙂 🙂  :).  After every one was done parul said that everyone was good. She dint compare with anyone. I think this is really good things to not compare as being the leader 🙂 🙂 :).

I think over all parul did a very good job. She was fully prepared. She was following a plan. She was a good leader. 🙂 🙂 🙂 ad\nd ilike her workshop very much.  it was really very fun. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

sadman’s workshop :):):) December 12, 2010

today was sadman’s turn to do his workshop.  His topic was NOH THEATER. sadman first show as a power point. i think that his power point was good. there was some good information about NOH THEATER :). but the thing was sadman was reading from the power point. bu seeing that i think he didn’t have a clear idea about his topic. first when i saw the power point i was taking interest in it but after sometime it was getting boring for me because what ever sadman was telling us was clearly written in his power point. he wasn’t explaining things very clearly. still i tried to focus on what ever sadman was teaching us. in some places i didn’t understand what he was talking about so i asked him questions. he gave me the answer but when he was giving the answer i thought that he was very unsure about what he was saying.  for like 15 minutes he was just talking and talking. that made his whole workshop very  boring. he didn’t have much pictures in his power point. i think if he had 5-6 picture in his power point that it would be very nice because from all the talking he did our mind would have gone in another direction and we wouldn’t feel bored.  from sadmans power point i get to learn that we should not ever read from the power points. we should understand what is actually written in the power point. even in my workshop i did the same thing and miss Gisele told me the same thing. but  overall i think he was confident. which i think was a good thing 🙂 🙂 🙂 because many people do things vey nicely or perfectly but due to their nervousness, they mess up everything. whichc is not a good thing 😦 😦 :(. this can also effect their marks. but in case of sadman, he was very confident of what ever he was saying.

after the presentation, sadman showed us some videos about NOH THEATER.  the video was really interesting 🙂 🙂 :). i really ;liked the video.   one video was about the masks which is used by the people in the NOH THEATER.  from the video i got to know that in NOH THEATER, people use different  types of  masks like some mask are evil, some are aged masks. some were young masks, etc. the female and male have different types of masks. in sadman’s presentation at one place he taught about the costumes of the main character. the main character in the NOH THEATER wears a five layer cloth. their costumes are made up with five layer cloths and their costumes are really gorgeous. i think that this thing about their costumes were really interesting 🙂 🙂 :). i think sadman should have talk about this topic more because we don’t know about their costumes and i think talking about their costumes wouldn’t be boring.

sadman didn’t have any proper activity to teach us. after showing the video sadman showed us some dance movement which the actors do in the NOH THEATER. but it wasn’t a proper activity to teach us. by seeing his whole workshop i think he should have a proper planning of what he will be teaching us. i think that if he had some good pictures in his power point, the power point wouldn’t be boring that much like it was. he should have a interesting activity to teach us like by showing the actors movement in the NOH THEATER, their physical movements or the dance or making masks.

over all i think that sadman did a so-so job. but if he had include all the above things than i think his workshop will be very good. this was the first time for all of us to led a workshop. so , we do mistake and we should learn things from our mistakes. so that we don’t do the same mistake again and again.  sadman did some researches about his topic. which i liked the most about his workshop 🙂 🙂 :). but in my opinion he could do lot better 🙂 🙂 :).  if he had done a good planning.

MY OPINION ABOUT PLANNING ♥♥♥♥♥♥

in my opinion, for leading a workshop we have to have a good plan because i think that our workshop depends on our planning. if we don’t have a good planning than we will get confused. but if we have a planning. it helps us to be organized. by seeing the plan we can say what do we have to do after what. so for leading a workshop planning is very important  think. 🙂 🙂 🙂
