NAUREEN’S PRESENTATION February 27, 2011

naureen was the last one to present her presenatation. her practitioner was Jerzy Grotowski and his style was poor theater.  in the very beganning of her presentation she gave us a handout about Jerzy Grotowski. which i think was very useful for me :). there was many important things about Jerzy Grotowski his poor theater. i liked the fact that naureen didnt gave us any irrelevent information :). what ever she gave us awas usefull.  after she gave us the handouts she started her presenation. her presentation was 20 mins long. when she started her presentation she looked so confident.  by seeing her no 1 will say that she was nervous. she knew her topic so well :). when she was talking she didn’t looked at the slides. it seemed like she knew what ever she wrote on her slide.  she was very clear when she was talking :). she didn’t talk to fast or to slow. it was normal. after the power point she showed us a vidoe anouit poor theater. i really liked the video :). in the video they shoed how characters work in a poor theater.

over all it was the last and a good presentation 🙂 🙂 :). naureen did a awsome job. i really liked her power point presenation. i learnt many new things about Jerzy Grotowski and his poor theater 🙂 🙂 🙂

mashroor’s presentation February 13, 2011

after mashfique it was mashroor who had to present. his topic was Constantin Stanislavski . Constantin Stanislavski was femous for hid realism theater. his power point duration was 15-20 minutes.  he also gave us a handouts on Constantin Stanislavski. he did a very nice power point. i like his background but the background make a little bit difficult for me to read what ever was in the slides.  he explain each and every slide. he was good at explaning things.  in his power point he had information about Constantin stanislavski and his theater of realism. after the power point he showed us a vidoe. the vidoe was only about Constantin stanislavski not about his theater of realism. i thought that if the video could give us some informaiton about theater of realism than it would have been easy for us to understand the charaters of realism. their movement, acting, eye movement etc. when i saw the video i get to know about Constantin stanislavski. which was a good thing :). but i wanted to learn about theater of realism because we all had different practitioner and their differnet types of theater and in my opinion none of us know much about the practitioners and their types of theater and i thought that realism was very interesting. it sound really interesting to me. i thought that the theater of realism was a theater were characters show the truth of people’s life, the reality. but unfortunately mashroor didn’t give us much information about theater of realism.

but over all he did a good job 🙂 🙂 :).  he tried his best and none of us are perfect. we should learn things from our mistake so that we don’t repeat the same mistake in the future. 🙂 🙂 🙂

Mashfique’s presentation

after adiba it was mashque;s turn to present. it presentation was about bertolt brooht. first he gave us a hand out about bertolt brooht. there was a whole lot of information about bertilt brooht. after giving the handouts he started his presentation. he didn’t write anything in his power point. he only had picture in his power point. he remember the important dates.  i think that he had less information in his slides. but what ever he had in his slides he tried his level best to explain it.  his presentation duration was about 15-20 minutes. after the presentation he shows us a video about the history of the life of bertolt brecht. i think that the vidoe was very good but it was too long. the video comtain good information about bertolt brecht and his theater of epic. after that he was done with his presenation.

i think if the video was short than we could do some kind of activity. if he could give was a play related to epic theater and if we can act it out than it wold have been very good 🙂 🙂 :). i think that if we did something like this   than we could get a little bit knowlwdge about epic theater.

overall i think it was a good presenation. he tried very hard to make his power point,  because i have to do the same thing and i think make a power point is hard because he have to first read the information and than we have to write it in our own words.

ADIBA’S presentation February 9, 2011

adiba was next to present after me. she took 35-40 minutes to do her presentation. adiba’s practitioners  was Antonin Artuard.  he was femous for his theater of cruelty.

befrore adiba started her presentation she gave every one sone habd out. in the habdouts there was some information related to Antonin Artuard. when i opeaned the handout i saw a plenty of information about Antonin Artuard. all of the information was important. after giving the handouts she started her presentation.

STRENGTHS

• she was confident
• she knew her topic very well
• she was organized
• she gave us relavent handouts
• she wasn’t reading the information from her slides
• she showed was a video
• she interacted with the audience very well
• she did a activity to make us understand more about Antonin Artuard and his THEATER OF CRUELTY.

this was all the good things i found in adiba’s presentation.  when she was doing her presenation it look like she understand Antonin Artuard very well. when she was telling us about the activity she looked like she was into that activity. i like this thing very much. when some one understand something he/she gets into that character which is a good thing. i really like this thing about adiba 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 :).

i don’t think adiba needs ti improve anything because she was really good 🙂 🙂 :).  after adiba’s presentation i learnt many things Antonin Artuard and his THEATER OF CRUELTY.

over all i think adiba did a brillient  job. by looking at her presentation every one can say that she worked very hard and she had a very good knowledge about Antonin Artuard.

i will like to take all the good things from her presenatition. so, that  i can improve my presentation. 🙂 🙂 🙂

MY PRESENTATION February 8, 2011

this was the first time in drama class when i was presenting first.  my topic was different from other because i ddn’t get any practitioners like others.  ,y topic was “THEATER OF ABSURD”.

in my last presentation ever one said that i should slow does. if i speck to fast then other people doesn’t get what i am talking about. they don’t understand anything. keeping that point in my mind i tried to slow down this time and by the end of my presentation i think i have succeeded. at the end of the presentation people were asking me question that makw me feel like i had made them understand something about THEARER OF ABSURD. in some places people were confussed a little bit. i tried my level best to explain things what ever they were confussed about.

STRENGTHS

1. people understand what was i saying.
2. people were taking interest in knowing about theater of absurd
3. i didn’t talk quickly
4. i tried to explain each and ever thing which was written in my slides.
5. i was enjoying my presentation
6. i had a knowledge what i was talking about
7. i had many pictures in my power point.
8. i had some good information
9. i show a vidoe which helped people to know the HISTORY OF THEATER OF ABSURD. 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

 

WEAKNESS

1. i wasn’t confident that much
2. i wasn’t looking at the autidence to much
3. most of the time i was reading what ever i have wrote in my slides
4. in some places i repeated the same thing again and again
5. when people were asking  me question i wasn’t sure about some answer
6. i should have talked about my topic more

 

over all i think was presentation was ok  (NOT TO BAD  😦 OT TO GOOD 🙂 ). i think i could have done better.  i will always remember my mistake from this presentation.  so that in future presentaion i do a good job 🙂 🙂 🙂

DOING A PLAY IN DIFFERENT WAYS February 2, 2011

today we stated doing a play. niss Gisele gave us the scropts. the first thing we did with the scritp was we started reading it. first when i read the script it looked a really boreing play to me. after we were done the reading miss Gisele gave us a sheet. in that sheet there was different ways written to do this play. when i say that sheet of paper i was quite surprise. that time i was thinking that can we make a beroing story interesting by doing it in a different ways? when miss Gisele said that we will be doing this play in 4 different ways, i was very excited that time 🙂 🙂 :). i was just waiting to do it.but miss Gisele said that before doing the play in different ways we should first read the play together. when i was reading it, i wasn’t having fun 😦 😦 :(. i was like i have to read it thats why i am reading it.

after that miss Gisele asked us to select any emotions from the list. the first one which we all did was “TOUCH”. the rule of useing this emotion was, during the play we always have to touch some one. so after some time we started doing the play with touch emotion. when i was doing the play i found it really interesting. while i was doing it i was getting a little bit meaning of the play. it was really fun 🙂 🙂 :).
